St Mary’s Gardeners Reap the Rewards of Their Hard Work

There was great excitement at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Newton Aycliffe this week as pupils harvested a fantastic crop of potatoes from the school garden.

Over the past few weeks, the school's dedicated team of gardeners has worked hard to nurture and care for the plants, learning valuable gardening skills along the way.

A Bountiful Harvest

After weeks of watering, weeding and tending to the garden, the children were delighted to uncover a plentiful harvest of potatoes.

The experience gave pupils a wonderful opportunity to see the results of their hard work while learning more about where food comes from and how it is grown.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

The school garden continues to provide valuable hands-on learning opportunities, helping children develop responsibility, patience and an appreciation for the natural world.

Well done to all of our gardeners for their fantastic efforts and successful harvest!
