This week, our Year 2 children embarked on an unforgettable journey through history with an immersive retelling of “Vlad and the Great Fire of London.”
Stepping into Boxton’s shoes, the children began their adventure in the bakery, sampling breadcrumbs and settling down for the night. However, their peaceful rest was soon interrupted by the smell of smoke!
They experienced the drama and excitement of the Great Fire as they rushed outside to discover houses ablaze and hear the roar of explosions echoing through the streets. With a real sense of urgency, they fled the burning city and made their way to safety, finding refuge in a tent just outside London.
Through this immersive experience, the children gained a deeper understanding of this significant moment in history, while also learning about bravery, resilience and perseverance.
It was a truly remarkable adventure—well done, Year 2
