Learning About the Impact of Litter
Year 4 pupils at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School recently explored the impact that litter can have on the environment as part of an engaging learning project.
The children investigated the costs associated with cleaning up litter, who is affected by environmental waste and how long different materials take to decompose.
Putting Learning into Practice
After developing their understanding of environmental issues, the pupils rolled up their sleeves and headed out into the local community for a litter-picking activity.
Working safely and responsibly, the children helped collect litter and make a positive difference to their local area.
Becoming Environmental Champions
The experience helped pupils understand the importance of looking after their environment and encouraged them to take responsibility for keeping their community clean and tidy.
Well done to Year 4 for their enthusiasm, teamwork and commitment to protecting our planet. Every small action can make a big difference!
