This week, Year 2 at St. Mary’s Newton Aycliffe had an amazing start to their new PE topic: Invasion Games! 

The children enjoyed learning different movement skills, practising dodging techniques, and playing exciting games like Fire and Ice. They also worked on teamwork and strategy during a fun cone-collecting challenge, which encouraged quick thinking and tactical play.

It was fantastic to see so much energy, enthusiasm, and smiling faces throughout the session. Invasion Games are a great way to help children develop coordination, agility, and problem-solving skills while staying active and having fun!

We can’t wait to see how Year 2 continues to grow in confidence and teamwork as the topic progresses.
