At the heart of our school is the name St. Mary, chosen because of her deep connection to faith, service, and hope—qualities that we strive to embody in our community. St. Mary’s life was a profound example of being "Called by God." From her acceptance of God’s will to her role as the mother of Jesus, she responded with humility and faith, trusting in God’s plan for her and all of humanity. This mirrors the journey we encourage our students to undertake: to listen to God's call, to serve others with compassion, and to follow the path of hope and faith.
St. Mary was also a Pilgrim of Hope, someone who journeyed through challenges, yet always trusted in God’s promise. Even in difficult moments, such as during the life of Jesus and His Passion, she remained steadfast, her heart filled with hope in God’s greater plan. As a school named in her honour, we see her as a model of hope, resilience, and devotion—an inspiration for our students as they navigate their own faith journeys.
Our mission, "Called by God," connects deeply with St. Mary’s example. It invites each member of our school community—students, staff, and families—to recognize the call of God in their lives, to respond with faith, and to live out their vocation with love, integrity, and courage. St. Mary’s example as a Pilgrim of Hope reminds us that even in the face of uncertainty, God’s light and love guide us, and with this hope, we are called to bring God’s presence into the world, just as she did.
