At St. Mary's, prayer is at the heart of everything we do, and it is through prayer that we nurture the spiritual growth of our students and staff. Our prayer life is vibrant and deeply connected to our school mission, "Called by God," guiding us as we journey together as pilgrims of hope.
One of the most powerful expressions of our prayer life is our child-led celebrations of the Word. These celebrations give our students the opportunity to lead their peers in prayer, reflect on Scripture, and share in the joy of worship. It fosters a sense of ownership over their faith and deepens their understanding of God's Word, while also nurturing their leadership and confidence.
Whole school worship is another key part of our spiritual life. Each week, our whole school gathers in prayer, united as one community in faith. These occasions are a chance to lift our voices in praise and worship, and they create a powerful sense of unity as we come together to celebrate God’s presence in our lives.
Regular visits to the local church further strengthen our connection to the broader faith community. Whether it's for Mass, special services, or times of quiet reflection, these visits provide our students with an opportunity to deepen their relationship with God in a sacred and meaningful space.
In addition to traditional forms of prayer, we encourage creative expressions of prayer that inspire our students to approach God in personal and imaginative ways. Through art, music, and movement, our students are encouraged to explore different forms of prayer that speak to their hearts, allowing them to connect with God in a way that resonates deeply with them.
This year, as we focus on being Pilgrims of Hope, we are reminded of our mission to live out God's call in our lives. Just as St. Mary exemplified hope and trust in God through her own pilgrimage, we, too, are called to journey together with faith and hope, knowing that God walks with us. Our prayer life is a reflection of this pilgrimage—a journey of faith, hope, and trust in God’s guidance.
