Year 2 Bring History to Life

This week, our Year 2 children embarked on an unforgettable journey through history with an immersive retelling of “Vlad and the Great Fire of London.”  Stepping into Boxton’s shoes, the children began their adventure in the bakery, sampling breadcrumbs and settling down for the night. However, their peaceful rest was soon interrupted by the smell of smoke!

St Mary’s Catholic Primary School Celebrates the Life and Work of Sir David Attenborough

Pupils at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Newton Aycliffe enjoyed a joyful and inspiring celebration as they marked the life and work of Sir David Attenborough. The celebrations were led by Year 4, who spent the afternoon learning about Sir David Attenborough’s incredible contribution to understanding and protecting the natural world. Children created beautiful projects inspired by nature and took time to design special birthday cards to celebrate his milestone 100th birthday.

Year 1 Super Veg Adventure at St Mary’s Newton Aycliffe

Year 1 pupils at St Mary’s Newton Aycliffe recently took part in an exciting learning experience inspired by the much‑loved story Supertato. After enjoying the book together, the children set off on a fruit and vegetable hunt to Tesco, bringing the story to life in a fun and engaging way.
